My wife and I spent eight years in a certain religious group. Being the only carpenter there, I spent two years of weekends “building the church”. At least I thought I was building the church; but then my pastor introduced me to some brothers who were also “building the church”. Their building was with the Word of God and the enjoyment of the Spirit in their fellowship. They had something that I didn't understand; nevertheless, it was something that I wanted. I thought that they were all preachers because of their clear understanding of the Word and ability to speak such rich truths from the Word. Then my neighbor gave me a book by Witness Lee called The Genuine Ground of Oneness. I enjoyed reading it so much that I couldn't put it down. I didn't quite know what this ground of oneness was but I knew that I had to have it and I knew that these brothers had that genuine oneness. Since then, my wife and I have been enjoying the genuine oneness in the church life for 15 years. We are enjoying the Body building itself up in love. (Eph. 4:16) We have received so much help from reading the ministry of Witness Lee. It has helped us appreciate the Bible so much more. Consequently, our love for the Lord and the brothers in Christ has grown tremendously.
